Kylie opened Lets Talk Hair Studio in 1999 set in
comfortable modern surrounds to relax you and be pampered by
professional craftswomen. Your Hair is a complex structure with
a delicate balance that is constantly upset by everyday living.
Pamper yourself & make an appointment for a beautiful new hair
style today. The Beauty side of the business opened in 2003 and
has filled a need in the community for those of us who wish to
look and feel younger or enjoy being pampered every now & then.
The history of Hair Care goes back along way,
colouring, adorning with flowers & jewels to create
ornate styles to simple and complex braiding. Fashion trends
developed
from Egypt to the Renaissance period, and the 18th Century of
mile-high coiffures and highly decorated curls. The roaring 20's
of bobbed and waved styles, signifying the new independent,
free-spirited, free-woman ethos of the day.
The
1940's followed their on-screen idols, with the emphasis on
feminine, romantic styles. Soft curls falling onto the
shoulders or long wavy natural looks &
short, back-combed hairstyles that could be quickly styled and
held in place with hair spray, softened with a long, feminine
fringe. Younger women who left their hair longer tended to wear
it loose or in a simple ponytail, adorning it with flowers or
ribbons during the fashionable ‘hippy’ phase. Even male styling
became softer with ‘feathered’ cuts, highlights and soft
layers. The “Age of Excess”, otherwise known as the 1980’s
saw less constraints and more freedom of choice in styles and
trends. During the 1990’s hair and beauty styles were
constantly changing and pretty much anything was acceptable.
